The program

Approved by CAPES with a score of 4, the Stricto Sensu Doctorate has more than 40 years of experience at FIA, combining theory and practice with knowledge of excellence. The program is formed by a highly qualified faculty of professors with PhDs graduated from USP, who have extensive experience in business consultancies with international quality standards.

Mission

To assimilate, develop and disseminate practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of business management and sustainability, serving people and organizations, aiming to produce impacts that contribute to the development of a fairer and more inclusive society, both at the national level and in a global perspective.

General Objective

To promote education aimed at the professional and academic advancement of studies in Administration and in the areas that are related to it, especially the area of sustainability, favoring the deepening of knowledge and the creation of new management theories and practices.

The course has its basic curricular structure with a main focus on the research lines STRATEGIC BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, MARKET AND VALUE GENERATION and STRATEGIC SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT, with an emphasis on SUSTAINABILITY, aiming at the alignment of this course with the master’s course, whose area of concentration is defined as BUSINESS MANAGEMENT.

Faculty -

Meet the FIA Doctoral Faculty

Our professors have great technical, academic and didactic training, in addition you will have classes with guests from the market to combine theory and practice.

President of FIA and senior professor at FEA-USP, he holds a PhD from USP with a postdoctoral degree in Management from Northwestern University. Specialist in innovation management, projects and technological policy, he works at PGT/USP and in international programs such as PUC Peru. He is a member of global innovation and project councils, and CEO of the FIA (2021-2025).

Director of FIA Business School and PhD from USP, he is a specialist in marketing strategies and metrics, strategic planning and educational management. Evaluator of journals in the area and professor of the Professional Master’s Degree in Business Management.

Associate Professor at USP, she is coordinator of the Professional Doctorate in Business Management at FIA. She works in career management, leadership and scientific methodology, being editor of the ReCaPe Magazine and researcher at USP and PUC-SP. Coordinator of PROGEP and professor at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, he specializes in intercultural management and leadership. An award-winning author, he teaches global MBAs and acts as a consultant for large companies and international organizations. He has published books and articles on leadership and culture.

She holds a PhD from USP, with an internship at Bocconi and postdoctoral degrees from FEA-USP, and is a visiting professor at FURG and a researcher at CNPq. She works in innovation and sustainability management, coordinating projects such as the Ecoinovar Forum and a consultant for INEP/MEC.

He holds a PhD from USP, teaches at FIA and is a member of the PGT/USP. He was a professor at renowned institutions such as ESPM and FGV. He researches technological management and public policies. He works on academic projects and leads innovation and technology initiatives.

Administrator with a specialization in Foreign Trade, she holds a PhD from FEA-USP and is a Graduate Coordinator at FIA. He researches sustainability with a focus on the Amazon, teaches at the Tecnológico de Monterrey and has developed a sustainability patent. He publishes in renowned scientific journals.

She holds a PhD from USP, is a professor at FIA and a member of PRME/UN. Specialist in project management, innovation and sustainability, she acts as coordinator of institutional projects and develops educational and managerial solutions for companies and public agencies.

He holds a PhD from FEA-USP and an engineer from ITA, and is a pioneer in corporate sustainability. A full professor at USP, he coordinates programs such as PROGESA and PGT and publishes extensively. He works as an international consultant and has led Engema for 30 years.

He holds a PhD from USP, is a professor at FEA-USP and FIA, editor of RBGN and PQ2 researcher at CNPq. He works in strategy, business networks and stakeholders. He is an administrative coordinator at USP and a reviewer for renowned academic journals.

PhD from USP and postdoctoral fellow in AI, he teaches in MBAs and master’s degrees at FIA. Consultant in innovation and technology, he has extensive executive experience in the technology sector, with stints at Google and Telefonica. He works in management and technology projects.

He holds a PhD in Social Sciences (PUC-SP), is a professor at FIA and PUC-SP, a researcher in career management and organizational behavior, and author of books on leadership and people management. He works as a consultant and coordinator in academic and business projects.

Associate Professor at USP, she is director of PROFUTURO at FIA and editor of the Future Studies Research Journal. Specialist in strategic management, innovation and studies of the future, he coordinates projects funded by FAPESP and CNPq and is certified in coaching.

He holds a PhD in Business Administration from USP, is a professor at FIA and a specialist in finance and franchising. Twice awarded by ABF, he was an executive in companies and a consultant at McKinsey. He researches new approaches in finance and collaborates with Financial Intelligence.

Area of concentration:

SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

This area of concentration is structured for the study of management theories and practices, focusing on business management and the potential of public and private companies to promote sustainable actions. The themes associated with sustainability permeate the analyses that form the core competence of the graduate program and generate new research perspectives. The vision of sustainable management provides the creation of academic, technical and technological productions that contribute to the development of people and organizations prepared to act consciously and attentively to social, ethical and environmental issues, essential to the current globalized world of business.

Line of research 1

The studies in this line focus on the advancement of management theories and practices for the formulation, implementation and execution of sustainable strategies in three dimensions: corporate (business definition), competitive (market positioning) and functional (operational changes). Sustainability guides research and the development of techniques and products for companies, people and society.

Research Line 2

This line of studies focuses on the advancement of theories and managerial practices related to the value chain of organizations in two dimensions: Markets, which seeks efficiency and sustainability in processes, with a focus on the consumer, innovation and marketing; and Value Generation, which covers economic-financial, environmental and social aspects to ensure the sustainability of the business. The alignment of management with organizational strategies guides the development of sustainable techniques, products and practices for companies and society.

Line of research 3

This line of studies seeks to advance theories and practices for sustainable corporate governance in two dimensions: Social, which deals with the role of organizations in society and their impact on the community, and Environment, which focuses on mitigating environmental risks of products and services. The ethical awareness of managers guides the development of sustainable practices and projects for for-profit or non-profit organizations.
